Anyone here any good at fixing TVs?
by ballistic insorry for the completely non-jw related topic, but.... my sony trinitron tv had a number of thin blue horizontal lines appear towards the top of the screen.
i did some research and these appear to be "fly back lines" caused by the retrace showing as the gun moves back up the screen.. rather than call an engineer, i decided to buy another tv on ebay.
get it home, plug it in and this one has exactly the same problem except red lines instead of blue.. i'm just wondering what are the chances of this happening???

tell me how you went. Try turning down the indivial colors on the neck board, if nothing seems clear to you, you can take a photo of the rear of the TV and email it to me, I'll then be able to help you better.

by free2beme ini heard today that the muslims want the pope to apologize, and at the same time i have heard muslims say that even an apology would not be enough.
a world leader of a country, has certain diplomatic concerns about what they say and do.
however, does a religious leader have these same concerns?

I am a TV Tech. Without seeing the Faulty, you might be lucky enought to adjust it out. Open the back and look at the EHT, there should be 2 pots on it, one is for the Focus and the other is the screen voltage, the screen voltage seems to be too high, turn the pot down a bit, the picture will get a bit darker but the lines should disappear if this doesn't work then it could be caused by a faulty Vertical Amp. If all this seems strange to you then for God's sake don't touch it at all, you'll only hurt yourself.

Recieved copy of Michigan Apostate Letter today
by lovelylil intoday i received the letter sent to all the elders in michigan that our friend outaservice was referring to a few days ago.
i was planning on scanning it and putting it up on the jwd.
but the print if very, very tiny and my hubby (who knows how to scan) said it will be very hard to see.

It doesn't matter how tiny the type is, if you scan it, the scanner can enlarge it. Also, you can run it with an OCR program that will tranfer the File into a text file that can be read by a Word Processor. Send the Letter to someone who knows about this and let him/her do it.
